LEE PATTERSON-CARLIE MEDINA BIG WINNERS IN A HIGH
SCORING RECORD, WCST EBONITE ALL STAR DOUBLES
AT BUENA LANES, VENTURA, CA

Last week-end at Buena Lanes, in Ventura, CA., another high scoring shoot-out,
and a new high scoring record for the WCST Ebonite All Star Doubles. Larry
Patterson and Carlie Medina, a big victory, and starting the 8 team finals with
a qualifying leading score of 3797 for the 8 team games, held a 216 pin lead
over the team of Jeff Gordon & Bryan Alpert, but after the 1st game, Lee & Carlie
won a match with a 410 game, and Jeff & Bryan, bowled a 569 gaame, and moved to
47 pins of the leaders, In this tournament, Jeff & Bryan got as close as 36 pins, but
in the position round, Lee's team rolled 494 to Jeff's team 398, and with the high
bonus points in the tournament won by 192 pins. The scoring was out of sight.
Total Games bowled in qualifying and finals, 656. 300 games (9), rolled by John
Conway, Jeff Gordon, Lyle Rollins, Dave Wodka, in the qualifying, Brian Alpert (2),
Lyle Rollins, Steve Warren, John Wellnitz, in the finals. 290 plus (3), 280 plus (7)
270 plus (29), 260 plus (31), and 250 plus (50). The teams of John Wellnitz-Lyle
Rollins and Ken Racette-Steve Warren, tied for 3rd & 4th. Special note: Steve
Warren rolled 1136 for his 1st 4 games of the finals, and a total 2135 for the
8 games. Total number of team games of 500 plus in the qualifying and the
finals (36)
Top 3 teams: 1st Place, Patterson-Medina, $2000.00. 2nd Place, Gordon-Alpert,
$1600.00, Tie for 3rd Place, Wellnitz-Rollins, Racette-Warren, $1200.00 each team.
33 teams entered, 22 checks paid out for a total of $10,750.00. For 16 tournaments
this year, a total of $122,265.00 paid out, and for 316 tournaments a total of
$3,595,896.00 paid out.
